The Gender Equality Cell of the College of Physiotherapy is constituted with the objective of promoting a safe, inclusive, and equitable academic environment for all students and staff. The Cell functions in alignment with the constitutional principles of equality and the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission and the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
The Cell is committed to fostering gender sensitivity, mutual respect, and equal opportunity within the institution. It undertakes initiatives such as awareness programmes, workshops, sensitization sessions, and observance of important national and international days related to gender equity. Through these activities, the Cell aims to eliminate gender bias, prevent discrimination, and encourage a culture of dignity and inclusiveness.
The Gender Equality Cell also works in coordination with the Internal Complaints Committee (POSH) to ensure adherence to statutory provisions concerning prevention of sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination.
By promoting awareness, dialogue, and responsible conduct, the Cell strives to nurture healthcare professionals who uphold the values of equality, empathy, and ethical practice in their academic and clinical careers.
